its not over when you lose games or trophies, its over when you lose faith and hope
Its either something that we will cheer for or cry for.
This is what life is about.
It’s about walking into that dim, quiet arena. The cool chill of the ice and a/c coming from the rafters. Walking into that locker room. The smell of hockey equipment lingers from the years. It’s greeting your teammates. It’s the locker room talk between the boys while putting your gear on. The high fives on the walk to the ice.
For the fans, it’s the excitement before the game. The smell of beer, popcorn and hot dogs. Watching warm ups and the music that plays. It’s hearing your country’s national anthem. The anticipation of the drop of the first puck and hoping your team has the lead after sixty minutes.
It’s the sound of skates cutting and chopping at the ice. It’s the sound of snow showers. The sound of bodies crashing into the boards, the tap of the sticks crying for a pass, the clang of the puck hitting post or crack of hitting the glass, the goal horn going off when the home team scores. The cheer of the fans.
The hits, the goals, the pretty passes and the warriors who fight for their teammates. It’s a beautiful game. This game is my life.
